David Buss is at Univ Texas in Austin. I've read a lot by him and he seems to be one of the top authorities.

I'm having a hard time finding a good, reputable graduate school for Industrial/Organization psychology. I want to study that or Humanistic Theory, but primarily I/O Psychology. Can someone help me out with a list of colleges that have good programs for a masters and doctoral degree? Thanks so much!

Click "list all universities" and it will give you a lot of options. Good luck!

I am looking for a university that offers graduate study in Psychology, preferably at the Psy.D level. Thank you for your help.

Have you looked at Argosy University or The University of Chicago?

Argosy has an excellent psych program.

Hi I am a current UC berkeley undergrad psych major and I am trying to graduate a year early. I wanted to go to grad school in psychology but I fear that they will look down on me for this and I won't get in. I have some research in psych and have a pretty decent GPA (3.5). Is there any hope in going to psychology grad school??

My experience is with experimental as opposed to clinical programs, but one of the most important criteria for grad school is the belief that you'll be capable of conducting strong research. If you've sped through undergrad but have good research experience, and you're just looking to get into a phd program as quickly as possible to continue that, that isn't unreasonable.

however, depending on the school, about half or less of the incoming grad students are straight from undergrad. it's very common for people to work for a couple years in a research position (a paid research assistant in a lab) before having the credentials to apply.

if you've got the research and the rec letters, go for it. on the other hand, that senior undergrad year could be a great opportunity to do some aggressive research (particularly if you're mostly done with classes) in an environment where you already have a lot of contacts.

Best of luck to you!

I have a desire to get my Master's degree in counseling psychology. I know I have a less than desireable GPA.. if I get a really good GRE score can I still get into a decent Master's program?

Yes, definately. And the grad school I'm attending didn't require GRE's. But you have to maintain a 3.0 GPA in most grad schools so get ready to buckle down!
